Fukuoka International Airport (FIAC) reported record-breaking passenger traffic of 12.96 million for the April–September 2024 period, an 11% increase from the previous year. Growth was driven by strong international inbound demand. The airport plans to launch a second runway in March 2025, increasing its flight capacity. By 2028, FIAC aims to expand international routes by 60%, reaching 38 routes, with a focus on connections to East and Southeast Asia.
