Amkor Technology (Tempe, Arizona, USA), the global leader in semiconductor assembly and testing, announced the establishment of its first R&D center in Japan, located in Fukuoka City. Scheduled to begin operations in April, the project involves an investment of up to 1 billion yen in equipment. The facility will focus on electronic components for automotive applications and later expand to technologies for assembling semiconductors required in autonomous vehicles.
