Kitakyushu City to Foster Space Industry Business Through Tech NEW
Kitakyushu City hosted the 'Kyushu Space Business Caravan' in August 2024, aimed at promoting the rapidly growing global space industry. The event attracted over 700 participants (including 250 online), with around 22 companies and universities showcasing exhibits. Kitakyushu is home to Kyushu Institute of Technology, which operates the highest number of small satellites in the world, along with several manufacturing companies. These strengths give the city the potential to develop a full spectrum of satellite-related activities, from planning and design to production. In April 2024, the city established the 'Space Industry Promotion Office' within the Bureau of Industry and Economy to further promote the space industry and create new business opportunities.
