U.S.-Based APL Group to Build Large-Scale Data Center in Itoshima
Asia Pacific Land (APL) Group, a U.S.-based real estate investment and development firm, will construct a large-scale data center in Itoshima City, with construction set to begin in spring 2025. The project is expected to exceed an investment of 300 billion yen. Speaking with Fukuoka Governor Hattori, APL Group President Yoshinobu Takahara emphasized their goal to establish Fukuoka as Japan's third data center hub after Tokyo and Osaka. The company estimates demand in northern Kyushu could reach a power capacity of 1,000 megawatts, indicating potential for further development.
